Zero Waste

The River School is an eco-healthy facility. We strive to sustain a Zero-Waste guiding principle. By serving food onsite using reusable utensils we eliminate the use of plastic containers, wrappers, etc. We use non-toxic craft materials, and minimize waste by creating recycle-able art. We also provide personal cloth hand towels for each child to use for drying hands after washing. (Towels are washed after each school day). We are a chemical free school, using all natural cleaning agents and detergents.

By practicing environmental awareness around children, they may grow to be conscientious of how our choices directly affect our impact on the earth. Without preaching or judgment, it is our goal to encourage healthy living for all of us!
